Days and months
MONDAY: Day of the Moon (English monn = Monday)
- TUESDAY: Day dedicated to Mars, the Roman god of war; English Tuesday comes from Tiu or Tiw, Germanic god of war.
- WEDNESDAY: Day sacred Mercury, as seen in the Romanian name "miercuri". In English means day consecrated to Odin or Woden, chief Norse god.
- THURSDAY: Day dedicated to the god of thunder reyo and, in Roman mythology, Jupiter or Jove and the Germanic Thor.
- FRIDAY: Day of Venus, the Roman goddess of love. English is the day dedicated to the Germanic goddess of love and beauty Frigg or Frija.
- SATURDAY: From Hebrew "Shabbat," which means "day of rest". English comes from the god Saturn, predecessor of the Olympian gods.
- SUNDAY: In the Romance languages and Gaelic from the Latin "dominus" meaning "Lord" therefore, Sunday means "the Lord's day."
In English and German means "sun day".
MONTHS OF THE YEAR
- January: Janus, the Roman god of gates and beginnings. Its symbol was a head with two faces, one looking forward and the other backward.
- FEBRUARY: From the Latin "febraure" which means "purify".
- MARCH: Mars, the Roman god of war.
- APRIL: From the Latin "aprire" which means open; It is the month when the flowers begin to open.
- May: From the Latin month dedicated to old or "maiores" men.
- JUNE: Both of Juno, goddess of motherhood and wife of Jupiter as the month dedicated to youth or "junior" men.
- JULY: From July deified Roman Caesar.
- AUGUST: From deified emperor Augustus.
- September: "septem" or "seven".
- October: "octo", or "eight".
- NOVEMBER: From "novem" or "nine".
- DECEMBER: From "decem", or "Ten
